Gordinier Family Outdoor Session

The Gordinier's have graciously volunteered to be my Family Reps for the next year.  They are excited to have the opportunity get their lives on film, (Jay saiys he's always the one behind the camera), and I am excited to have them represent the studio.  Jay and Deb own a new community business (more about that later) and said that working together has been the best thing that ever happend to them.  They prefer casual poses and settings so we decided to visit the Depot Park for our first session to take advantage of the nice weather and fall colors.  Depot Park has a great gazebo and bridge which offered some great backgrounds for our portraits.  We met in the afternoon to take advantage of the lower sun level which I could use for backlighting and sun flares.  With backlighting you avoid squinting faces and the rim light gives a nice glow to portraits.  I also use supplimental portrait lighting for outdoor sessions to balance the light and keep any shadows on faces light and open.

Here are a few of my favorite portraits from the park.
